Restocking the Reserves
Restocking the Reserves Setting: Just outside the Main Den Entrance, Middle of Summer Characters: @JollyMutt’s Diablo, @Celtic-Barbarian ’s Polarstag It was an extremely hot day in camp, and the Elk Totem was hopeful to get someone to join him in searching for herbs. The sounds of crickets chirping in the long grass around camp was a comforting sound. He didn't wish to exit camp alone, despite how tempting it would be to head to the stream for a dip to soak his pelt. As he passed out of the entrance of the Elk den, the healer looked across camp to see who was about. Though it seemed that most wolves were out doing their tasks, several resting in the shade. Flicking an ear, the white wolf couldn’t help but smile when he saw the familiar and comforting sight of Diablos’ pelt exiting camp. Heading immediately there, he was curious if the wolf was just going to guard the way into camp or was heading to the stream to help get some of the heat off of his pelt. Either way, he was happy
DotW - Heavy Souls
Setting: North of the Valley, treeline, Fall 2020 Characters: @JollyMutt’s Diablo, @Zoketi’s Nadia Nadia Stones weighed in her belly. It was hollowing, how familiar the feeling of grief had become. A sensation of falling into place again, yet fresh and sharp all at once. Each wolf she’d mourned differently, but the loss was the same; deep and painful. For the first few days, inescapable. For her, it was carefully balanced in the way she faced her pack. She could not break down before them. She was their pillar, their support. Not only had the pack lost a beloved member, but a skilled healer as well. It would have been less worrisome had their other high-ranked Elk totem been present, but she was away and Nadia did not know when she and her mate would return. Polarstag was capable, but the two youngest were still inexperienced. It was a whole new problem, worsened by the threat of winter’s imminent arrival. She thought briefly of the upcoming Fest, and how she would have to try
DotW - Doubt
Setting: Lonely Woods, Evening, End of Autumn Characters: Diablo (@JollyMutt) and Nadia ( @Zoketi) Summary: After returning to the edge of the mountain where Remus fell, Sunrise is approached by Diablo, who makes an attempt to bring the young male some sort of comfort or distraction from his inner turmoil and emotional wounds. Sunrise This was as close as he could get. Sunrise could not manage to climb all the way up the steep trek where Remus fell, to send a thought for him to the Moon and the Sun, as his mother taught him. He knew Remus wouldn’t have wanted him injured just to feel close to his mentor, despite the death that now was between them. If it were for him, he’d gladly do all in his power to bring Remus back. “It was my fault he fell…” he thought, for the hundredth time that day. And the day before. And that before. And so on. If he didn’t freeze, Remus wouldn’t have come to his aid
DotW - Wolf to Bear
Setting: Lonely Woods, Evening, End of Autumn Characters: Diablo (@JollyMutt) and Nadia ( @Zoketi) Summary: Diablo stumbles upon Nadia in the Lost Woods while wandering the territory. There they have an honest discussion and Diablo seeks advice on what pack task would be best for him. Diablo After spending weeks traveling Chandors territory, there were still so many new places for Diablo to discover. He had already familiarized himself with most of the South East and South West, and now was investigating the North. The diversity of the territory never ceased to amaze him, especially after coming from a pack that’s biome was entirely one-note. A dying territory. He had already passed Watchers Willow, and had just finished taking a look at the Warming Pools, when he picked up a familiar scent. Someone had passed
